Dimensi-dimensi Misional Daniel dalam Pembuangan di Babel

Richard Hedwig Michael

Abstract

The Book of Daniel is known as one of the important parts of the Old Testament because it tells about the life of God's chosen people in the midst of exile. Daniel's presence in Babylon was a call to proclaim God's sovereignty among the nations and not just an effort to survive. Investigating how Daniel interacted with foreign rulers and cultures during the Babylonian exile while upholding his religious beliefs is the purpose of this study. To achieve the purpose of this study, the author will show specific examples where Daniel's choices and actions show his testimony of faith. The author will also discuss how Daniel's actions and the fruits of his faithfulness influenced the foreign rulers' acceptance of Israel's God and how this affected their views of God. The method used is the literature study method where the author will use books and other supporting literature to research and find the dimensions of mission in Daniel's life. Based on the results of the description and analysis carried out on the missionary dimensions that Daniel had in exile, the author found Daniel's missionary dimensions in the form of: Daniel's awareness of God's calling, the development of his spirituality, his commitment to the sanctity of life, and his excellence in his service to the pagan kings.
